Typically the bulk of power usage is consumed by air conditioning and a larger proportion of that power (often well over 50%) is wasted cooling empty rooms or running the AC too hot or too cold.

Because the AC14 is mains powered, (via a simple connection to the AC head unit) under Australian law these units must be installed by either a qualified air conditioning technician or an electrician. Typically it takes between 30 and 40 minutes to install and set up an AC14 unit.

The AC14 is fit and forget and built for long term commercial use. It monitors occupancy, however If you have issues with occupants running the air conditioning with a balcony/patio door or window open, you might consider upgrading to the AC14 model which monitors occupancy and also has a wireless sensor that turns off the AC if a door or window is left open for more than 3 minutes.
