Aircon Off automatically turns off the
air conditioning in empty rooms.
Saving 100% of unnecessary running costs.

HOW AIRCON OFF WORKS

Quite simply Aircon Off will monitor a room to see if it’s being used, if it’s not occupied for a pre-determined time Aircon Off will automatically switch the air conditioner off.

WHY IS AIRCON OFF SO COST EFFECTIVE AND SAVE SO MUCH IN RUNNING COSTS

It is a well known problem that guests both deliberately and unintentionally leave air conditioners on when they leave a room, unit or house unoccupied. This obviously results in a huge waste of power and wears out expensive equipment, dramatically increasing electricity and maintenance costs. Air Conditioning is normally the single most expensive electrical item to run in a property. In most businesses air conditioning makes up over 50% of the total power bill. In accommodation scenarios the proportion of the power bill spent on air conditioning is often even higher. Global warming, spiraling energy costs or just the unnecessary strain on equipment are all valid reasons for ensuring that the air conditioning facilities you provide for your clients, guests or employees are controlled and optimised.

HOW MUCH POWER CAN BE WASTED WHEN AIR CONDITIONING IS UNCONTROLLED?

In our personal experience with holiday rental properties we know that up to 80 percent of AC provided to clients is wasted on keeping empty rooms cool.  If air conditioning makes up 50% of your power bill and more than 50% of your air conditioner usage is wasted, this means that you could save over 25% of your total bill simply by controlling your air conditioning with Aircon Off products. Obviously actual usage and savings will vary according to individual circumstances. By using our Aircon Off Electricity Saving Calculator you can personally estimate how much your air conditioning may be costing to run, how much power you are wasting and how much the Aircon Off can save you.

HOW DOES THE AIRCON OFF ALSO SAVE IN MAINTENANCE COSTS?

Two factors in particular increase wear and tear on an air conditioner and reduce its life expectancy: They are; running the air conditioning too long without a break and running air conditioners too hot or too cold. Not only do people deliberately and unintentionally leave cooling or heating on when they leave a room, unit or house unoccupied. They also very often run air conditioning at very low or very high temperatures. More often than not users do both of these things at the same time. This can create a situation where the air conditioner “over works” itself with the compressor running flat out for very long periods without a break. Apart from the ever present risk of air conditioners freezing up or causing leaks and water damage to a property, this obviously decreases the life expectancy of an air conditioner by quite literally wearing it out. Extended running periods can also cause condensation issues where cold pipes run inside walls. We are told time and time again of situations where air conditioning has been left on for days and even weeks at a time in empty properties.

HOW DOES AIRCON OFF ACTUALLY DO THIS?

Aircon Off uses passive infra red technology to scan the air conditioned room for occupancy. When no movement has been detected for a pre-set time (either 15, 30 or 45 minutes), a signal will be transmitted to the air conditioner to switch it off. Aircon Off does not switch the air conditioner “On” if a user wants the AC turned on they simply use a remote control as normal. Aircon Off has many functions and settings that allow you to customize the device to suit each application ands scenario

DOES THE AIRCON OFF EFFECT THE AIR CONDITIONING AVAILABLE TO A USER?

No. Apart from turning the air conditioning off in unoccupied rooms the Aircon Off does not effect the amenity at all. The air conditioning operates normally and stays on normally as long as the room is occupied. Studies that have been conducted show that with increasing awareness of the irresponsibility of energy wastage, over 95% of users (when alerted to the existence of Aircon Off)  accepted that it is unreasonable to expect the air conditioning to continue to run when they have left the room unoccupied. The fact is the Aircon Off is so inconspicuous the vast majority of users do not even realise that the air conditioning is controlled in any way. It is an automatic conscience for your air conditioner.

AIRCON OFF SMART REMOTES

Helps to control running costs when the air conditioning is operating.

The Aircon Off and the Smart Remotes are two completely separate products and one will work perfectly well without the other, however they do compliment each other and together they help to optimise your air conditioning and minimize your air conditioning costs.

WHAT DOES THE AIRCON OFF SMART REMOTES DO?

The Aircon Off Smart Remotes are set by the owner to automatically limit the operational temperature range of the equipment to whatever range is required. Saving power by prevcneting users setting uneconomic temperatures. For example a normal remote may have 16-30 as the cool range. A more sensible range may be 23-30. Whilst a slightly restricted operating range is absolutely adequate for normal operation it significantly reduces air conditioning operating costs as well as general wear and tear and maintenance issues.

HOW DOES THE SMART REMOTE SAVE RUNNING AND MAINTENANCE COSTS

Although it is recommended that air conditioning is run at no lower than a comfortable 23° -25° for cooling and no higher than 20° or 21° for heating, users often run it at much lower or higher temperatures than this. When air conditioning is run at extreme cold or hot temperatures, there is MUCH higher power consumption (of up to 40% above running the air conditioning at an optimum temperature) and an increased risk of breakdown. This and other features make it a unique cost saving device that will quickly pay for itself.

Every air conditioner should have one!
